What is Kurume Kasuri? While featuring strong geometric patterns, this fabric possesses subtle variations that create a pleasant, dreamlike texture. It feels as if you are walking through a tranquil forest, composed of diverse trees and stones. These traditional patterns began over 200 years ago when the 12-year-old weaving prodigy, Den Inoue, started experimenting with dyed and undyed sections of yarn. If the item gets wet, pat dry with a soft cloth to absorb any liquid. With strong rubbing the colour may come off leaving light spots. Please shade dry in a well ventilated area. If placed near air conditioners or heaters the item may warp.
