The HWF dining chair is part of the Handwork Furniture series, an ACTUS original collection designed to preserve and revive the handicraft techniques of the Danish furniture Golden Age. The collection was developed after years of restoring vintage Danish pieces from 1950–1970, with the goal of translating their meticulous construction and material finishing into contemporary furniture. Updated in 2025 to utilize oak wood, the series is engineered for durability and integration into modern interior environments.
The chair is characterized by a slender silhouette and a large, ergonomically curved backrest. Technical details include rounded inlays at the joints between the backrest and legs, which serve as both structural reinforcements and aesthetic accents. The seat is specifically designed with a soft leading edge to reduce pressure on the thighs, prioritizing comfort alongside its minimalist profile. This series represents the ACTUS commitment to inheriting historical craftsmanship through functional, high-quality production.
