Designed in 1928 by architect Marcel Breuer, the K40 table was originally created for the Berlin residence of theater director Erwin Piscator. As a prominent figure of the Bauhaus movement, Breuer utilized a minimalist construction consisting of bent steel tubing to support a 10mm thick glass top. This design reflects the Bauhaus philosophy of functionalism and pared-down aesthetics. Manufactured by the German brand TECTA, this piece is a precise reproduction that continues the legacy of modernism. Since 1972, TECTA has been dedicated to the authentic re-edition of furniture by masters such as Breuer, Mies van der Rohe, and Walter Gropius, ensuring the historical design principles remain accessible in a contemporary context.
