Meguro Lounge Chair

Meguro is a furniture collection born from a unique collaboration between three entities: Naoto Fukasawa, an internationally acclaimed product designer; Maruni Wood Industry, a company with nearly a century of experience in crafting wooden furniture; and ACTUS, a leading Japanese interior retailer.

The collection was named "Meguro" by designer Naoto Fukasawa himself, inspired by the Tokyo district of the same name, which is renowned for its cluster of vintage furniture shops. This choice reflects the aspiration that the designs will be timeless and cherished, passed down to future generations.

The hallmark of the Meguro collection is its Lounge Chair, which features a deeply comfortable backrest that instantly invites you to sit, and sculptural armrests designed to gently cradle your arms.

A key design feature is the backrest being intentionally wider than the seat. This subtle yet significant difference creates a sense of security and a welcoming, embracing feeling when you lean back. By positioning the seat and centre of gravity lower, the chair offers superior comfort, allowing you to relax fully without the need for an ottoman. This low-profile design also ensures the chair maintains a light visual presence rather than dominating the room.
